Noises Off is a 1982 play by the English playwright Michael Frayn. The idea for it came in 1970, when Frayn was watching from the wings a performance of The Two of Us, a farce that he had written for Lynn Redgrave. He said, “It was funnier from behind than in front, and I thought that one day I must write a farce from behind.” It takes its title from the theatrical stage direction indicating sounds coming from offstage.
This production was the culmination of a year’s worth of activity. “I’ve been working on this since November of 2014. Slowly getting the cast together and when Ghost Light Players came into being it was with the full intention of bringing this show to life, at a level of play that would challenge the actors I’ve brought on board”, said director Jeffery Bastien.
The cast featured long-time colleagues and some new ones. In addition, the set design was done by Phil McLeod of Shō Art Spirit & Performance.
